Ga. Superintendent awards schools of excellence

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) – State Superintendent John Barge is visiting schools in Chatham and Glynn counties on Monday that have earned the Schools of Excellence Award.

Barge along with representatives from Georgia Natural Gas and United Health Care will ecognize the principal, teachers and students at Oglethorpe Charter Middle School, Savannah Arts Academy High and St. Simons Elementary School.

Schools will get a plaque, certificate and $1,000 to use as they wish. There were 22 schools selected as a 2010 Georgia School of Excellence.
