SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Every day the March of Dimes is raising money and the March for Babies kicked off at K-Mart on Montgomery Cross Road.
The local ambassador family, the Steinherts, helped start the drive.
Nationwide the company has raised more than $90 million in less than 30 years for the March and the store in Savannah led the way in all of Georgia.
"We have a great customer base, a very giving customer base. The reach deep into their pockets and give to a great cause day in and day out," said Savannah K-Mart Manager Steve Marsh.
This year's event just started and the Savannah K-Mart already raised almost $4,000.
The March for Babies runs until April. All the money will go to the NICU at Memorial University Medical Center.
