Maj. Gen. visits school to present award

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - Congressional Medal of Honor receipent Maj. Gen. James Livingston is speaking to students at Bolden Elementary School. While he spent time getting to know the students and answering questions, he also came with a message.

"The mesage we're trying to bring to them is they need to challenge themselves, always continue to raise the bar and be the best they can be," said Maj. Gen. Livingston.

He also present sixth grader Lydia Moody with a new bike and a $500 savings bond.

Lydia won the Armed Forces Foundation coloring contest from the Department of Defense school's worldwide.

Maj. Gen. Livingston is only one of 16 living Marines in the national to have the Congressional Medal of Honor.
