SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Verizon Wireless has announced they are adding 30 leased lines and three broadband radio channels to help enhance data speeds along the Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade route to ensure that customers will have service throughout the day during the festivities.
Verizon reports that in recent years, the company has seen a huge increase in data usage. They are anticipating more than 100,000 text messages per hour which is 230% higher than Verizon's current busiest hour.
Verizon will also set up an interactive area for visitors to test the latest wireless devices, such as the new iPhone4 and Motorola Xoom tablets. They will have two themed photo booths where guests can get their pictures taken and a live karoke stage.
