St. Patrick's Day mass, parade to kick off

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The 2011 St. Patrick's Day parade will kick off at 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

But before the parade steps off, Savannah's Irish Catholic community will pack the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist for a special service. Each year, they hold a morning mass to celebrate and honor St. Patrick. Livestreaming on for the mass starts at 8 a.m.  

Then thousands will line the streets of downtown Savannah as bands, floats, military units and dignitaries march through town in the St. Patrick's Day parade. of course, grand marshal Walter Crawford will be right out front leading the celebration. Livestreaming of the parade on begins at 10:15 a.m.
