Work on railroad crossing to start Monday night

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - The Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority will start removing rails and repaving the railroad crossing on Laurel Bay Road, near Highway 21 and the Marine Corps Air Station on Monday night, March 21.

The work is expected to be completed within a week.

The intersection willl remain open, but individual lanes will be closed as necessary. All the work will be done at night and the contractor will flag and direct traffic through the construction zone.

Motorist are urged to use caution when traveling in the area.
