Once upon a time, not so long ago, America was deservedly the most powerful, most financially-sound, and most respected nation on earth. Regrettably, no longer, as the elite have proclaimed us, unexceptional. Not true, of course, for our military, which remains a magnificent free-world beacon of incomparable capability and courage. But aside from those great men and women, America's world respect, power and strength are in free-fall, as our nation's standing erodes, amidst the persistent telegraphing of history-betraying weakness. The change we weren't looking for.
The crumbling of America's image abroad traces back to our President's unthinkable 2009 "Knock-America-Down-To-Size" foreign tour, where he proclaimed his own nation to be (quote) "arrogant," revealing apparent homeland distain, followed by naively cuddling with enemy regimes, while tossing America's true allies aside. Strangely, when we recall our nation's over-100-thousand World War II heroes still-buried across Western Europe, somehow the term, "arrogant," doesn't come to mind. Perceived to no longer have even the desire to lead the free world, our reputation continues to suffer to the present, amidst the Administration's strange priorities, temerity and indecision, as words, alone, continue as stand-ins for meaningful action. March 3rd, the President announced that Libya's Gaddafi "must leave," because he (quote) "has lost legitimacy to lead". A mirror's reflection can be harsh, as America's leadership legitimacy, too, has been compromised and diminished. Respect in a truly-troubled-world, and especially among the trouble-makers, can only be earned by convincing financial and military strength, bolstered by consistent, firm leadership. On two of the three, our great nation is now running on empty.
