RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) - Ridgeland police made arrests for 14 violations during three checkpoints conducted Saturday.
Thirty-eight citations were issued and arrests were made on of those 14 citations. Six were for driving under suspensions, one was a probation violation, one was a family court warrant, one unlawful weapon violation, one open container violation and there were six driving without a valid driver's license violations, according to Ridgeland police.
Police warn that during spring break and Easter there will be more and stepped up traffic enforcement efforts aimed at reduced traffic collisions and fatalities.
A special focus will be on drivers who operate while under the influence alcohol or drugs and those operating above the posted speed limits.
