Soldiers at Hunter Army Airfield got a little taste of Hollywood today. Oscar-nominated actor Gary Sinise had lunch with the troops and signed a few autographs. Sinise is best known for his role as Lieutenant Dan in the movie Forrest Gump. He even put his military role to use and boarded the pilot's seat on a Blackhawk.

Sinise hopes his visit will express his appreciation to troops for their service to the nation. "It's hard for me to just watch TV and read the paper and watch the news and know what's going on without wanting to get out there and contribute something...something positive to people who are fighting for the country," he said.

Sinise will have lunch with troops and visit Winn Army Hospital at Fort Stewart tomorrow. The USO and Armed Forces Entertainment are sponsoring his visit.
