LONG CO., GA (WTOC) - There has been no notable increase in the size of the fires in Long County since Sunday, but many are still concerned.
Emeregency Management officials gathered at Long County High School on Wednesday for two meetings to address any concerns residents had about the fires and to share helpful information with all in attendence about how to protect their homes and themselves in situations such as the massive wildfire.
"We had to evacuate. We were told to evacuate. You could see the fire and everything was full of smoke and it's scary because it's something you can't really do anything about once it gets started," said Stina Makay from Ludowici. "It was a very scary experience. So, I am grateful for any information I can get."
Three homes were detroyed by the flames and Stina says she is thankful her home was saved.
Officials say the area burned by the fires is enough space to fit more than 3,000 football fields.
