BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - Officials at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort conducted a special emergency excercise on Wednesday. During the training, Marines along with first responders on the base and in the community put their skills to the test as they responded to several mock scenarios. They say it's a chance to evaluate their operating procedures.
"It makes it second nature for us," said Lt. Sharon Hyland. "Now we've run though a practice drill, we know what it's going to look like on game day so everyone knows where they're strengths are and our weaknesses and we are able to work on those things so that come a real scenario, we're able to execute it as flawlessly as possible."
The air station holds the training each year to make sure they are always prepared.
