SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Getting a chance to take a trip doesn't come around very often, so Thursday night students at Savannah State University danced to raise money for a trip to Ghana.
They performed traditional Ghanaian dances with modern day songs and transcended both mediums.
"Theater and dance traditionally discuss social dynamics. They discuss everything that's in the structures, so that no matter what's coming forth from the stage, it represents everybody," said Lajune Wise, Assistant Professor at SSU.
Students also created original works of art to raise money for the trip.
