SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Middle and lower school students at Memorial Day school hit the gym to jump rope and exercise at their "Jump Rope for Heart" event.
The event is all about raising children's awesness of heart disease and the importance of heart health while raising money for the American Heart Association.
"We have different stations that everyone is going to be jumping, and they have been out raising money. We have one of our own, a teacher who's nephew had a heart transplant, so this is very dear to our hearts," said Diane Barefield with Memorial Day School.
All in all, students at Memorial Day School raised more than $22,000 over a two week period.
