Chatham County Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a Savannah man. Police arrested 18 year old David Lawrence this afternoon and charged him with one count of murder.
Officers believe he shot and killed 20 year old Sheldon Walker. He was shot in the chest as he was walking down Bluejay Avenue near the Westlake Apartments on September 6th. Walker died before he could be taken to the hospital. Officers say Lawrence was living in an apartment next to Walker's. They say the two men exchanged words right before Walker was shot.
Lawrence is in the Chatham County Detention Center. He'll be arraigned on Monday.
