RICHMOND HILL, GA (WTOC) - It's tough to say who will win Saturday's Komen Race for the Cure, but the fundraising contest may be a little easier to handicap.
Thursday night at marker 101 in Richmond Hill, Team Terri gathered for one last fundraiser before the big event.
Team Terri honors the memory of Terri Lank who lost her battle with breast cancer early 2011.
Her friends and family have been energetic in their efforts to remember Terri in this way and as they near the finish line they can be proud of what they've accomplished.
"Well they started out with a $5,000 goal and I think they're about to $30,000 right now and tonight we'll get more money tonight also," said Don Amerson, Terri's dad.
"And all of these girls that have been working so hard, oh my god, friends of Terri's sweet, sweet, sweet," said Judy Amerson, Terri's mom.
The Savannah Race for the Cure is presented locally by Memorial Health.
Celebrity cook Paula Deen and author, lecturer and funny lady Bertice Berry were the honored guests this year.
Team WTOC will see you in Telfair Square Saturday at 8 a.m. race time.
