Earl Yarbrough out as SSU president

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - There's change at the top of Savannah State University. President Earl Yarbrough is out.

Georgia Board of Regents spokesman John Milsapps told WTOC that the regents review all university presidents in April and has chosen not to renew Yarbrough's contract.

He had been president at SSU since 2007 and was a finalist for a new job at Southern University in Louisiana.

Yarborugh will remain president until an interim president is named. There was no comment from SSU  officials on Wednesday.
