BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) - A driver was severely injured in a crash Wednesday night.
Bluffton police arrived on the scene at about 9:02 p.m. Wednesday to a single-vehicle crash on Okatie Highway between the SC 46/SC 170 traffic circle and the New River Bridge.
A red Nissan Titan pickup truck driven by Charles William Manker, 46, of Bluffton, ran off the right side of the road as it was traveling toward the New River Bridge.
The truck sideswiped a guardrail prior to hitting several trees and rolling over numerous times before coming to a stop, according to police.
Manker was the only occupant of the vehicle.
He suffered severe injuries and was flown by helicopter to Savannah Memorial Hospital.
His condition is critical but stable.
Okatie Hwy was closed for approximately an hour and a half while the collision was investigated.
The investigation is ongoing.
