In the face of last week's S&P's down-grade of America's economic future, due to our massive debt, the President laid-out his tax-the-wealthy scheme for taming that sky-high indebtedness, something he and his colleagues increased by 35%, in just two-years, with no genuine interest or effort to significantly reduce spending. And, no, it's not "Bush's fault." The left has controlled Congress since 2007, and Congress sets the budgets. So, for the 4-year, firey-lava-flow of wasteful, nation-eroding, binge-spending, the blame goes solely to this Hill and White House.
Demonizing Ryan's budget plan, the President said that (quote): "it would lead us to a fundamentally different America." Yes, a more sane, solvent, self-reliant one, rather than worshipping Robin Hood, the original economic Marxist. On taxation, the leftist express-lane to income-redistribution, he referred to his heist-target, as the (quote): "most fortunate among us." Clearly implying that those who earn over $200,000 a year haven't worked hard for it, but rather were just lucky, like lottery winners. Yet another stunner from the President was this one (quote): "If we keep spending more than we take in, it's gonna cause damage to our economy." Breaking news, sir, it already has. With that wording, he attempts to distance himself from the rampant spending, printing, and borrowing cycle he, himself, has unleashed. Meaningful debt reduction can only result from major spending cuts, shrinking the government, and eliminating waste. If growth-destroying tax increases become required, the middle-class will be included, as well, since the so-called wealthy, alone, won't make a significant dent in our debt, something D.C. knows, but deceptively hides. The President says his vision is an America where we (quote): "live within our means." One look in the mirror, sir, and you'll find that solution.
