Pet store continues push for city dog park

A Savannah business will continue its push for a new dog park in the city.

The TailsSpin pet store says it has a petition with more than 2,000 signatures asking that Nathaniel Greene Park on Bull Street be turned into an "off leash" dog park. They've spent the past few weeks collecting the signatures and hope to send a message to the Savannah City Council.

"We have a lot of dog owners who would also like to have an area where they can take their dogs. not just for the dog's sake to run around but it helps dog owners where people can meet and socialize so it's exercise and recreation," said Jeff Manley of TailSpin.

Shop owners say Savannah has only one true dog park and is in need of another.
