Time to clean the medicine cabinet.
Armstrong Atlantic State University is participating in the national take back initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Campus police are collecting unused or expired prescription drugs, keeping them out of the wrong hands, and out of our water supplies.
"They will be destroyed by the DEA. We have a secure area to keep them. Everything's confidential. You can drop off any type of medication the only thing we won't take will be needles," said AASU Deputy Chief of Police Wynn Sullivan.
Anyone can drop off their unwanted prescription medication 24 hours a day through Saturday at the Armstrong police department on Abercorn Street at the corner of Arts and Library drives.
