Final Kia shipment could cause interstate delays

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Drivers can still expect possible delays on some of Georgia's interstates.

Special trucks are moving the very last load of heavy equipment from the Savannah port to the Kia manufacturing plant in West Point. WTOC was there when the first shipment hit the road.

The Georgia Department of Transportation issued oversized load permits for moving giant equipment.

The route will take the oversized loads west on Inter sate 16 from Savannah, north along Interstate 75 to Atlanta. The truckers will rest there for the night then continue in the morning west along Interstate 285 and then south through Coweta County along Interstate 85 to west point.
