Veteran continues fund-raising bike ride for Wounded Warriors

It has been two weeks and a Desert Storm veteran from Waycross is still going strong - cycling across the country for wounded warriors.

It looks like Jason Rogers is almost half way home, making his way through Del Rio, Texas, after starting in San Diego, Calif.

Rogers said Texas has great food and hospitality, but he still can't wait to get home. He had had news attention along the way. A San Antonio TV news station also caught up with him.

Rogers is looking to raise a goal of $100,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project.

There is a Facebook page called Coast2CoastWarriorRide to help people spread the word, build support, and follow him as he rides across the country.

There is also a website set up for anyone willing to donate or wanting to learn more about the ride at  There are two ways to donate. One way is to donate directly to the WWP by clicking here. The second way is to donate to an account set up that covers expenses of the ride itself, which is found by following the provided PayPal link.  All funds donated to this fund that are not used on the ride will go directly to WWP. This account is set up and managed by Jamestown Baptist Church, where Rogers is a member.

Donations can be made online or mailed to: Jamestown Baptist Church Warrior Ride, C/O Buddy Hersey, 3215 Beulah Church Rd., Waycross, GA  31503.
