Tornado watch expanded until 4 p.m.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A tornado watch is in effect until 4 p.m. for several counties in Georgia and South Carolina.

The watch includes these Georgia counties: Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Liberty, Screven, Candler, Evans, Tattnall, Toombs, Long, McIntosh.

The watch includes these South Carolina counties: Hampton, Beaufort and Jasper.

The tornado watch includes these cities: Beaufort, Charleston, Darien, Fort Mcallister, Halfmoon Landing, Hilton Head, Hinesville, Ludowici, Pembroke, Savannah, Townsend and Tybee Island.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 5 p.m. Thursday for several Georgia and northwest Florida counties.

The severe thunderstorm watch includes these 12 Georgia counties: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Clinch, Echols, Glynn, Pierce, Ware, Wayne.

The severe thunderstorm watch includes these northeast Florida counties: Alachua, Backer, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Union.

The watch includes these cities: Alma, Baxley, Blackshare, Brunswick, Fernandina Beach, Folkston, Gainesville, Green Cove Springs, Homerville, Jacksonville, Jasper, Jesup, Palatka, Pearson, St. Augustine, St. Mary's Starke, Statenville, Trenton and Waycross.

WTOC's Meteorologist Dave Turley said that today will be mostly cloudy and breezy with a 70 percent chance for showers and storms. Storms could be severe with large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Highs near 87.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance for showers and storms early then clearing overnight.  Lows near 57.
Friday:  Sunny. Highs near 80.
Saturday:  Sunny.   Low:55.  Highs will be near 81.
