SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - One man is in custody and are searching for another after an overnight home invasion.
Just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Savannah-Chatham Metro Police officers were called to the 200 Block of Gobel Avenue on a report of a home invasion.
The victim told police that two men broke into his home and woke him up. They demanded money from him. He did not have cash to give them, but the suspects took some of his personal belongings and fled, according to police.
As police got there, they saw a vehicle speed away. They tried to the pull the vehicle over, but it left and the officer pursued, according to police. The driver crashed in the area of Houston and East President streets. The occupants fled from the vehicle.
The pursuing officer and detectives went after them on foot. Both of the men fleeing from the car matched the description of the home invasion suspects.
Terry Grubbs, 24, was apprehended and identified as one of the suspects involved. Grubbs was charged with the robbery as well as several traffic charges. The other suspect is still at large.
