SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Children took the future of their education into their own hands Monday.

Marshpoint Elementary students recently raised $15,000 for their technology department, and their reward was a ride in style to Tybee Island.

The grand prize was an ecology trip to Tybee Island with transportation provided by Savannah Limo Service. They picked up 21 first graders from the winning class, and even though it was a very exciting trip, teachers made sure it was educational as well, learning about Tybee ecology.

Marine biologist Joe Richardson said, "We're going to see the kinds of animals that wash up on our beach as well as live in the sand, the kind of animals that live along the jetties-the pile of rocks out there. Every day is different as far as what you can find on Tybee Island. I've never had a group arrive in limosines so this is pretty neat, I'm looking forward to this."

The children were asked how it felt to ride in the limo and most responded "it felt just like a bus."
