Family speaks out against man convicted of killing son

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Wednesday a judge sentenced Bobby Hopkins to seven years in jail after a jury found him guilty of hitting Tristan Linthicum while driving drunk back in 2008.

Thursday Tristan's mother released a statement she read aloud in the courtroom during the sentencing.

In it she said that "Tristan will always be loved and time isn't making his death any easier."

She continued, "He was and is very well loved and words and time doesn't make it easier for our family. There is a hole where he was."
