Red Cross helps victims in weekend fires

At about noon Sunday, the Savannah American Red Cross Disaster Action Team responded to a residential fire in Garden City on Highway 80, which put two people out of their home.

The Red Cross provided food lodging and clothing.

In Brunswick at about 1 a.m. Sunday the Red Cross Disaster Action Team responded to a mobile home fire at 495 Old Brookman Rd., which left four adults homeless. The Red Cross provided lodging, food and clothing.

At about 4 p.m. Saturday, the Disaster Action Team of The American Red Cross were called to a small apartment fire at Habersham and Taylor streets. The fire resulted in the activation of a sprinkler system, which displaced several residents.

The Red Cross is provided canteen services for the displaced residents.
