Driver cited after bus overturns

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - No one was hurt after a school bus turned over on the Chatham Parkway ramp leading to Interstate 16 east.

Police say the driver of the school bus pulled out in front of a white pickup truck, causing the two to collide and slide down the ramp.

No children were on the bus, and the driver of the pickup and the bus walked away from the crash unharmed.

"Certainly, to know there were no kids was a relief but still those bus drivers are still a part of our family as well, and we want to make sure they are OK so also were worried about them as well," said Otis Brock, operations officer.

The driver of the bus was cited for failing to yield. The ramp of interstate sixteen has since reopened.
