Chatham County's economic engine celebrated another milestone on Wednesday, as Mitsubishi Power Systems, Savannah Machinery Works, held the plant's formal, on-site dedication ceremony, attended by dignitaries and hundreds of guests, from the area, the state and from over-seas. The Power Systems state-of-the-art complex, here, is the company's first, full-line manufacturing facility constructed in America, with plans to continue its expansion as market demand accelerates.
Among the dedication's speakers was the understandably proud Mayor of Pooler, Mike Lamb, who, among his other welcoming remarks, patiently reminded all in attendance that the Mitsubishi plant was, in actuality, located in Pooler, and that Savannah was merely one of that booming city's suburbs!
Our congratulations and thanks to Savannah Machinery Works General Manager, Steve Woodall and his growing team for their present and future contributions to the area's economy, and for their sincere commitment to strong community involvement and partnerships. And special thanks to Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas for selecting Pooler, Greater Savannah, and the State of Georgia, as the home of this modern, high-tech facility which is, and will remain, a great and growing benefit for all involved.
