SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Second-graders from nearly half of the Savannah-Chatham public elementary schools have playing the Quick Think a Thon personal safety game for months.
Now their school representatives are putting it all on the line - in a tournament aimed at helping them make safe decisions quickly.
"When children are out this summer swimming they'll know, they'll remember hey I'm supposed to swim with a buddy," said Quick Think a Thon coordinator Vicki Bradley.
Ziella Chambers of Butler Elementary School took home first place. Damaris Diaz from Juliet Low earned second place and Gadsden's David Osgood earned third place.
Ziella goes on to the state tournament in Columbus, Ga.
WTOC's Sonny Dixon was the event's emcee.
