SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Curves is known to inspire women to live healthier lives and now the fitness organization is encouraging its members to give back in a big way.
Thanks to donations by its members, Curves donated more than $3,000 to America's Second Harvest Food Bank. For more than a decade Curves has come together to stock the shelves of local food banks but it would not be made possible without the support of its members.
"Our members are really community oriented and we like to give back every chance we get. I just want to thank them for all their support through the years. This is the 9th year we have done it, the 13th year that Curve International has done it, and I just thank our members so much for being wonderful warm people they are," said Kathy Smith of Curves.
America's Second Harvest Food Bank provides food to more than 300 partner agencies and in 2010 distributed more than 8.1 millin pounds of food.
