SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Lawmakers with the Legislative and Congressional Re-apportionment Committee talked about the changes coming to the gold dome in Savannah Wednesday night.
South Georgia could also lose two state Senate seats and six to eight house seats when redistricting takes place.
Lawmakers said we need to stick together.
"So we've got to make sure that we speak with a unified voice. We've got to make sure that the Redistricting Committee understands that it's important for fairness to take place, to keep communities together and certainly in South Georgia, that's going to be extremely important," said State Senator Buddy Carter.
They will hold the meetings around the state, but this was the last one in the Coastal Empire.
