It's that inevitable time, again, for military changes of command and responsibility.  One of which took place last week at a 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade ceremony on Hunter Army Airfield, when current Brigade Command Sergeant-Major, Rick Stidley, passed the traditional leadership sword to Brigade Commander, Colonel Don Galli, who, in turn, passed it to his newly-named Brigade Command Sergeant Major, Patrick Blair.

Command Sergeant-Major Stidley is a highly decorated, combat veteran, with numerous deployments, including three with the Brigade to Iraq, and most recently, another to Afghanistan.  Answering our nation's call for further service, he'll move forward to the Army's combat helicopter training post at Alabama's Fort Rucker, where he'll be Command Sergeant-Major for the Combat Readiness Center there.  An exceptional career soldier, with over 30-years of service and sacrifice for America, we wish Rick Stidley, wife Janine, and their daughters, all the very best with their new assignment.

Promoted to Brigade Command Sergeant-Major, 25-year Army veteran Patrick Blair, is also heavily-decorated, with multiple overseas deployments, including most recently the Afghanistan combat tour as a Battalion Command-Sergeant-Major with the 3rd CAB.  Like CSM Stidley, Patrick Blair is an exceptional career soldier.  We wish Patrick, wife Rhonda, and their daughters great success with their new responsibility here at Hunter. Rick and Patrick, two stellar, Army, Senior NCO's, moving to positions of higher leadership, while continuing to serve, sacrifice, and protect America.
