The man accused of killing two Beaufort County sheriff's deputies was back in court today. Tyree Roberts' trial is supposed to start Monday, but Roberts wants the judge to throw out the case. The judge denied his request.

Roberts is charged with shooting and killing LCpl. Dana Tate and Cpl. AJ Coursen on January 8, 2002, while the officers were responding to a domestic violence call. During preliminary hearings this week, Roberts argued the officers violated his Fourth Amendment rights when they entered his home, which is where they were killed.

Jury selection on this trial should begin Monday, and may take about a week. The actual trial is estimated to begin two to three weeks after.
