NORCROSS, Ga. (AP) - The body found inside a burned vehicle in a Gwinnett County park was identified as an 18-year-old from neighboring DeKalb County.
Ted Bailey of the Gwinnett medical examiner's office said Saturday the body was identified as Andrea Eleni Nassos of Stone Mountain. He said he could not yet release information on how the teen died.
Gwinnett County police Cpl. Edwin Ritter says an officer patrolling the area around 5 a.m. Friday discovered a car smoldering after it was burned. Ritter says officers and firefighters found the body in the trunk of the car, which was in a back parking lot of the park.
Homicide and arson investigators are involved in the case. Gwinnett police are also asking that anyone with information contact the department's homicide unit.
