Special kudos this week to a fine group of Savannah State University students. These caring young men and women held several food drives as part of the school's recent Hunger Awareness Week. The result: a total of six-thousand-five-hundred pounds of food was collected for the Savannah Baptist Center. For their efforts, they were presented an award by the Campbell Soup Company, as a part of that company's national "Let's Can Hunger" competition. Congratulations to SSU for your honor and the hard-work invested to help ease local hunger. And our thanks, overall, to Savannah State students and faculty for your on-going outreach efforts to assist throughout our community, year-around.
