June is Adopt a Shelter Cat month

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department's Animal Control is waiving the adoption fee for cats and kittens as part of Adopt a Shelter Cat month.

More than 4 million cats and kittens enter animal shelters nationwide each year, according to ASPCA data.

Spring has brought in several litters of kittens. The kittens and cats have been inoculated and the cost of the shots is the only cost associated with the adoption, according to SCMPD.

The SCMPD Animal Control is located at 7211 Sally Mood Dr. It's open for adoptions seven days a week from 1 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. For more information on adopting animals visit their website at http://animalcontrol.chathamcounty.org/Home.aspx.
