BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) - Monday's smoke in the air is from the large wildfires in Georgia, according to the Bluffton Township Fire District.
The district is getting inundated with calls about the smoke. The Bluffton Township Fire District is asking people not to call for them to check on smoke. Residents are being asked to call only if they can see a fire or they have a fire of their own then they will need to call 911.
A burn ban remains in effect for the greater Bluffton area.
Those residents who have any kind of breathing problems, need to take caution when doing outdoor activities. The amount of smoke in the air could add to those difficulties.
