BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - Next month is the 56th annual Beaufort Water Festival.
They're gearing up for an event on the waterways this weekend. The water festival along with the Kayak Farm will be hosting a new event on the river called the Cash for Trash Dash, which combines the popular sport of kayaking with a river cleanup.
"Our Commodore, Bob Bible, thought this would be a great way to honor the river system, the Beaufort River. We can go out, have fun kayaking in the early evening hours, enjoying the beautiful Beaufort River and also of course clean up," said Bill Damude of the Beaufort Water Festival.
The Cash for Trash Dash will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday at the downtown marina in Beaufort. Bring a kayak if you have one. They'll also have them at the cleanup.
