Police movie club starts Saturday

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

The registration deadline is Thursday for the Beaufort Police Dept.'s 37th year of its movie club.

The movie club provides an opportunity for children ages 5 to 12 to join officers from the department for entertainment and safety education.  

Registration for the movie club is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Beaufort Police Dept. substation at 1205 Duke St.

Each Saturday morning from June 11 through July 16, club members will meet at the Plaza 8 theaters from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There's brief presentation on a safety topic, a movie and chances to win prizes.

The program is funded by the Beaufort Police Department and private donations. Anyone wishing to donate to the program can send checks made out to "Police Movie Club" to the Beaufort Police Department.
