COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Maybe it's not too early for some Palmetto panic after South Carolina and Clemson both were blown out on opening weekend. It's the first time in 15 years the Palmetto State's teams each started 0-1. More than the defeats might be how awful the Gamecocks and Tigers looked in the losses minus the stars they counted on the past few seasons.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Bud Cauley won the Hotel Fitness Championship on Sunday to regain his PGA Tour card, earning $180,000 in the Web.com Tour Finals opener. Cauley closed with a 7-under 65 at Sycamore Hills for a one-stroke victory over Colt Knost.

HAMPTON, Ga. (AP) - Kasey Kahne grabbed the lead on the restart following a caution with 23 laps remaining and held off Matt Kenseth in a two-lap shootout to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday. Kahne's first win of the season earned him a spot in the Chase for the Sprint cup.

ATLANTA (AP) - Alex Wood struck out 12 in eight dominant innings and Evan Gattis homered to help the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 1-0 Sunday. The Marlins had gone 60 games without getting shut out, the longest active streak in the majors.
