The Savannah Ronald McDonald House will host the Chef of the House Challenge June 27-July 1, July 25-July 29 and August 22 - August 26.
The event is similar to a fun, local "Iron Chef" with a fundraising twist and a "Bring Your Own Challenger" format to benefit the Savannah Ronald McDonald House.
The event week kicks off Monday night with a battle between Sam's Club Pooler and Sam's Club Sandfly. Chef of the House features amateurs with a passion for cooking and helping, and Culinary Masters with a skill for grilling and giving back.
In 2009, the Challenge started out as a small event hoping to raise $5,000 to help with the organization's Share A Night fund but ended up netting over $26,000. Last year, RMHC Staff exceeded budgeted expectations raising $41,000. This year, the goal is to raise $45,000. Registration is full, and the event is netting $16,462 (net) and counting.
