CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - A serial bank robber has been captured by U.S. Marshals.
On Friday, June 24, Chad Carlton, 38, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Greenville, SC. A federal warrant was taken out in Asheville, NC, on June 3, for supervised release violation. He was on supervised release for previous bank robberies. Carlton was sentenced to 151 months for 11 counts of bank robbery in 1999.
Since June 3, Carlton committed a bank robbery in Savannah at the Publix grocery store on Whitemarsh Island on June 16, and is wanted by Pinellas and Pasco counties in Florida for multiple armed robberies.
