SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Soldiers who gave their lives in the line of duty were honored Friday morning.
Memorial University Medical Center held a ceremony to remember fallen warriors outside the Hopkins Biomedical Research Center. Those involved say the hospital has a special connection to our finest in uniform.
"Memorial was founded as a living memorial to the world war two war dead. It's an important part of our history and our culture and recently we've had a team member whose spouse was killed in Afghanistan and it's a reminder of how people give their lives to protect our freedom every day," said Memorial CEO Maggie Gill.
