The mother of Savannah mayor Floyd Adams has died. Mrs. Wilhelmina Adams passed away last night after a long illness. Mrs. Adams helped run the Herald newspaper with her husband, the late Floyd Adams, Sr., who founded the paper in 1945. The paper is still going strong today, run by their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Adams is survived by a host of family and friends. She was 78.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday at the St. Philip Monumental AME Church, where Mrs. Adams was a longtime member.
