Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum makes history

POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum has made history by communicating between two restored World War II era B-17 Bombers.

The crew at the museum used a restored radio from the "City of Savannah" bomber plane to send a message to the "Miss Liberty" plane which is being restored at the Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.

This is the first time that radio crews have been able to communicate using equipment from WW II.

The experiment was performed in honor of those who served in WW II.
