SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It was an ending suitable for a weekend filled with twists and turns.
The final round of the Oglethorpe Invitational required six playoff holes before Macon's Taylor Floyd could claim the title.
Round two leader Caulder Moore faltered late, dropping three shots from his -7 start. Meanwhile, Taylor Floyd and Louisiana's Buck Williams notched birdies on the back nine, ending regulation tied at -6.
The two remained even after the first three playoff holes, and were sent into sudden death.
Three playoff holes later, Williams double-bogeyed the par-4 17th hole, leaving Floyd a par putt away from the championship.
Said Floyd of the playoff, "We were both playing pretty bad."
"I'm sorry that he had to double on that last hole, but it's a good day."
"I think I was just worn out mentally after 18 holes," Williams added.
"In the playoffs, we both played sloppy but it was fun."
