Looking for something to do this weekend? What about hitting the road, on your bike? If you like pedaling on the open road, you need to go to Claxton. They're getting ready for the annual Cruisin' in the Country weekend. The chamber of commerce and other sponsors host the races that are from 20 to 100 miles. They expect almost a thousand cyclists.
"We have preregistered riders from 18 states and from DC, from New York, Michigan, from Vermont and as far away as Houston, Texas," said organizer Danny Swain. "We had some calls from riders in California."
Riders will start gathering tomorrow afternoon at the Claxton Recreation Department on Highway 280, while the ride begins Saturday. The event is ranked among the top fifty rides in America.
