Death Penalty in Post Office Murder

Meier Brown
Meier Brown

Yesterday, a jury convicted Meier Brown on two counts of murder and one count of assault and robbery. Today they sentenced him to die for his crime. Last November, Brown brutally stabbed 48-year-old Sallie Gaglia, a postal clerk in Fleming, in Liberty County. Because Brown committed the crime on federal property the case was tried in federal court.

Today, after hearing arguments, the jury recommended death on two of the three charges and 300 months in prison for the third charge.
