SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The 2011 Rock 'n' Roll Savannah Marathon and Half Marathon is close to reaching capacity.

The event will officially become the largest inaugural marathon and half marathon in Georgia history.

"We couldn't be more delighted with the response, Savannah has proven to be an attractive destination for runners from around the world," said Malain McCormick, Event Director, according to a press release. "We want to ensure each and every participant has a great event experience and enjoy all that Savannah has to offer. If you haven't signed up yet, now is the time because this race is going to sell out."

The race will have live bands, local high school cheer squads, and themed water stations providing entertainment along the route that starts downtown at historic City Hall.
